Commercial Channel VAR Account Manager (Mid Atlantic) -72328

 

The Position:

AMD is currently looking for a Commercial Channel VAR Account Manager to be part of the Commercial sales team, reporting into the leader of the Commercial business segment for North America.  This new role is customer-facing and will be responsible for building AMD’s VAR business in North America in support of our customers’ commercial PCs, servers, and professional graphics.  You will be responsible for driving business development with VARs by evangelizing AMD technology, building sales programs, enabling sales teams through training, and managing executive relationships.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements; foster relationships and manage customer expectations to mutually aligned business goals with AMD.
  • Educate partners on AMD technologies and solutions; may be brought in by partners to help sell AMD technology in OEM products to end customers.
  • Create and implement sales and marketing programs to grow AMD’s business within the channel.
  • Manage Executive relationships between partners and AMD.
  • Establish and maintain account plans to promote sales growth.
  • Achieve assigned quota for AMD products.
  • Be a strong advocate for the customer internally to AMD, reporting and resolving customer issues.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • An established background and relationships with IT product distributors, VARs, and OEMs (eg. Dell, HP, Lenovo).
  • Ability to influence and project-manage global, cross-functional teams.
  • Executive presentation skills to multiple stakeholders: customers, analysts, technical experts and business leaders.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 5-8 years demonstrated success in comparable roles, developing strong customer relationships which have led to sales success.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
