Seeking a Firmware or Software Engineer with an interest in developing applications to be used for the functional and behavior verification of state-of-the-art industry leading graphics accelerators.


The Role :


This exciting role involves working in diagnostic or verification environments with emphasis on ASIC system-level testing. The candidate would be responsible for planning, designing, writing, debugging and optimizing functional and stress tests for 3D graphics hardware IP. Must be able to work with hardware architects and logic designers to solve functional issues, and customer support engineers to help resolve testing deficiencies.

Candidate should be an enthusiastic self-starter, proactive, able to share ideas, and able to provide design verification leadership.


Responsibilities :



The candidate would be responsible for planning, designing, writing, debugging and optimizing functional and stress tests for 3D graphics hardware IP. 

     Work with hardware architects and logic designers to define the test strategy/plan for new functional/performance features in GFX IP. 

     Review Register spec and programming guide to define the programming sequence and verification methodology    

     Define/develop code framework and functional test to fulfill the test strategy/plan

     Perform pre-silicon verification on emulator and ASIC bring up on real silicon

     Debug HW/Microcode/SW issue with architects and designer and refine the test methodology based on user case



A solid knowledge of hardware/software integration

A solid understanding of graphics engine architecture

Exceptional problem solving capabilities and data analysis skills

Strong software development skills on Linux and Windows

Excellent communication skills

Experience with object-oriented programming in C++, STL, and Boost.

Experience with Python, Perl, and Bash

Must have knowledge of real-time 3D computer graphics including the Direct3D and/or OpenGL application interfaces.

Experience with HLSL and/or GLSL

Must have knowledge of standard diagnostic testing techniques

Experience developing in a complex software environment

Explore and adopt new or evolving testing methodologies used in the industry to verify complex ASIC designs within aggressive, market-driven schedules

Work within existing test infrastructure on currently active projects.

Participate in system-level verification planning

Experience with source code control systems, Git, Perforce and SVN

Knowledge of RTL design practices and tools is a plus.
