GPU Compute and Graphics Architect
The Role:
AMD’s Advanced Architecture group is looking for outstanding HW and SW architects to innovate and co-develop features and changes to our graphics, parallel compute and deep learning hardware that will shape efficiency and game play.
The Person:
You will be part of the teams that ensure AMDs continued leadership in algorithm and processor design through influencing internal performance design tools and methodologies to meet performance expectations of future rendering systems and workloads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze, Brainstorm, Architect, Model and analyze resulting hardware and software codesigned models for new features to improve asynchronous multi-task work scheduling and reconfigurable modular graphics systems.
- Identify emerging techniques and rendering algorithms to guide GPU designs
- Analyze operations to identify actual performance limiters in hardware and/or software on both silicon or pre-silicon GPUs
- Work with software, hardware, architecture, and design implementation teams to identify issues and improve performance
Preferred Experience:
- GPU driver/compiler understanding/experience with GPU graphics programming
- Knowledge in GPU general-purpose computing
- Experience with RISCV hardware and ecosystems
- Experience with acyclic graphs and producer/consumer scheduling
- Multi-Core, Multi-Thread Architectures enabling performant irregular workloads
- Strong programming & hardware modeling skills in C/C++ (GPGPU Sim or Multi-sim a plus)
- Scripting language (Python, Perl) and UNIX/Linux experience, RTL a plus
- D3D, Vulkan and OpenGL graphics application/driver knowledge and experience desired
- OpenCL/CUDA/ROCm development experience desired
Academic Credentials:
- Masters, PhD and proven experience in relevant field (CS, EE, CE, Math, Physics)
