SR. DATA ARCHITECT

 

THE ROLE:

Do you enjoy finding creative solutions? The AMD Global Operations Business Intelligence (GOBI) team is searching for an individual to provide support to AMD’s Business Intelligence capabilities. Work in an exciting data environment integrating data from various sources into standard relationships.

We are looking for a hardworking individual who is passionate about implementing data science and operating analytical solutions that have a direct enterprise-wide impact on AMD’s business. You will employ predictive modeling and statistical analysis techniques to build end-to-end solutions, enabling both our engineering and business communities with analytics and performance metrics and help AMD to grow the business.

 

THE PERSON:

An ability to prioritize and perform well in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of client oriented. Open-minded for taking different challenges.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents BI strategy and roadmap to Asia based leadership. Works with functional leaders to understand user needs, prioritize project requests and communicate status.
  • Determines data structure requirements by analyzing operations, applications, and current systems
  • Builds data models and data mapping specifications; Generates the code required to build the physical database
  • Evaluates new data sources for consistency to the organization's quality standards; Profiles the new data sources to detect potential quality and structure issues
  • Ensures that the design of the new data models integrates with existing data/subject areas
  • Designs and builds reports from the database for end-user consumption
  • Provides ongoing break-fix support and addresses improvements. Sustains existing data assets, performs database administration and system maintenance, and maintains knowledge repositories

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Education, training, and up-to-date expertise in Business Intelligence, including Data modeling, Data warehousing, Big Data, Data Security, Data Integration, etc.
  • Strong technical acumen with Business Intelligence software and tools with experience selecting and integrating systems.
  • Knowledge of the following: Informatica, SSIS, Power BI, KNIME, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, MS SSRS, MS SQL Server
  • Scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Perl, VBScript); Data interfaces and job schedulers (e.g., Control-M, Redwood); Oracle, SQL Server Database applications, MS SQL Reporting Services
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing services such as Azure SQL Data Warehouse or Snowflake a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a global environment; Flexibility to accommodate working with remote locations when needed

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, or equivalent.
