THE ROLE:

In this role, the experienced candidate will manage and develop a group of experienced engineers.  The manager needs to have an in depth understanding of semiconductor manufacturing and have the ability to solve complex problems.  Good collaboration and communication skills are necessary.  The Foundry Manager will be responsible for the manufacturing of several of AMD's product lines with AMD's foundry partners.  The focus of the team is to ensure consistent stable manufacturing while driving continuous yield improvements with the foundry. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and develop a highly skilled team of engineers
  • Conduct regular employee performance reviews
  • Set long term goals for the team and create employee development plans
  • Drive the foundry on product yield improvements
  • Manage multiple projects with varying priorities
  • Advocate for AMD's best interests with the foundry
  • Review and approve experiments for product improvements
  • Review WAT and yield analysis from the team, coach the team on methodologies and different approaches to root cause a problem
  • Explain manufacturing issues to internal business units and control changes requested by the foundry.  A strong wafer manufacturing background and excellent communication skills will be important for your success.
  • The manager is expected to bring a great deal of innovation and creativity to the team.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A technology related Bachelor's degree plus 10 or more years of related experience (process technology development/implementation/integration) including time spent in a management or leadership role. Requires experience with semiconductor manufacturing and device physics knowledge.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • An advanced degree is preferred.
