Director, Channel Account Management for the Worldwide Commercial Sales Team -68847

 

The job owner of this position is responsible for building AMD’s North America distributor and VAR business in support of AMD’s customers’ commercial PCs.  In this customer facing role, the seasoned leader must successfully manage customer engagements and executive partner relationships with the strong ability to influence senior level management. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategy to drive revenue and margin and grow the channel business.
  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements; foster relationships and manage customer expectations to mutually aligned business goals with AMD
  • Build sales and marketing programs to enable sales and business development teams.
  • Lead cross-functional teams focused on account management, customer engagement and support.
  • Evangelize AMD technologies and products.
  • Be a strong advocate for the customer internally to AMD, quickly identifying issues and driving resolution. 

 

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years demonstrated success in comparable roles, developing strong customer relationships which have led to sales success
  • Strong historical interaction and relationships with IT product distributors, VARs, and OEMs (eg Dell, HP, Lenovo)
  • An established background in technology business development/sales with at least 12+ years of progressive experience
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Influence and project manage global cross functional teams
  • Be comfortable presenting to different audiences; customers, analysts, technical experts and business executives
