Machine Learning Expert

THE ROLE:

You will be working as part of the global Custom Software Engineering team to design and maintain the graphics device driver and other software components, design custom software solutions & POC for AMD’s customers by leveraging advanced technologies like artificial intelligence across a wide variety of different use cases. You will work with different function teams across the world and provide AMD’s solution to customers.

THE PERSON:

You should have a strong technical background both in programming (with C++),  broader knowledge of machine learning, and system-level understanding.  And have the enthusiasm to design artificial intelligence software to help our customers overcome challenges with deployments of AI models on next-generation AMD platform, and to leverage that experience to make AMD’s products even better.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work as part of the global Custom Software Engineering team to design the solution, POC, custom drivers for AMD’s customers.
• Specify, design, and implement new ASIC and custom AI software features.
• Coordinate closely with peers in both Asia and North America to ensure timely and effective communication of all assigned work activities.
• Represent AMD software occasionally to be customer-facing, for technical design investigation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras
• 6+ years working experience in machine learning or statistics (or equivalent research experience)
• Strong software development experience in languages such as Python, Java, C++, Scala, C#
• Experience in Low-level programming of hardware devices is preferred
• Architecture in both kernel & user modes is a plus
• In-depth understanding of PC & Operating System architecture
• Good software design capability and hands-on knowledge
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good team works
• Self-motivated, strong initiative, can work under moderate to minimal supervision

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain. PHD is a plus.
