SMTS System Architecture



Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is an entrepreneurial research and development team to build AMD's future IPs, advanced platforms & products. You will have the opportunity to work with a winning team, collaborate with various R&D teams & customers, explore new technologies, leading, architecting, and defining the development of best-in-class hardware, software, and systems that solve real-world problems for end users.




ATG is looking for motivated and top minds to join our System Architect Teams to define, prototype, and drive our long-term technologies vision that will have significant impact for AMD’s future products in 3-5 years horizon.

In this role, you will work closely with architects and leaders across software, hardware, and firmware teams to drive critical architect decisions through hands-on prototyping and provide competitive analysis to our competitors. 

You will be actively contributing to the development in areas of applied machine learning, camera, computer vision, and advanced technologies for different platforms running different operating systems including, Windows, Linux, Android, Chrome, and other OS. 




  • Drive real-world innovations from architectural analysis, through implementation, customer feedback, and next-generation SW/FW/HW designs
  • Guide AMD’s next-generation technology system architectures for computer vision, imaging, and applied machine learning
  • Take on new and challenging projects in areas new to industry or new to AMD
  • Reporting to system architect lead, investigate into various aspects of system architecture and provide architectural decisions, design guidance, and KPI analysis
  • Develop and expand driver software in C/C++ realizing key customer features for end-to-end performance, quality, and robustnes




  • Track record of innovation, as demonstrated through patents, architectural improvements, novel system design, or personal projects
  • Experience in designing or interacting with Camera (ISP), Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or Multimedia solutions
  • Strong research & development experiences in autonomous, Robotics, Gestures, NLP, Computer Vision, Semantic Analysis
  • Experience in defining, evaluating, and prototyping HW / FW / SW architecture for x86, or ARM system-on-chip
  • Hands-on experience in developing driver software in C/C++ for Windows, Linux, and/or Android
  • Experience in driving SW architecture investigations and decisions from power, performance and KPI point of view
  • Hand-on experience in analyzing and debugging cross-domain issues across multiple subsystems




  • Bachelor of Computer Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree
