AMD's Software Tools Team (MacOS  Platform) is responsible for supporting integration of core software components and managing configuration management and continuous integration of the GPU driver software on the MacOS platform. The Software Tools Team is looking for a software engineer to support the integration of core software components and the integration testing systems, as well as tracking down related issues. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of configuration management and continuous integration systems, independent problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure to successfully resolve challenging issues. Superior oral and written communication skills are required. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, be a strong team player with demonstrated initiative who is passionate about developing leading¬ edge products. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

-Managing the integration of core software components into the MacOS platform GPU driver code base.

-Excellent communications skills to report status and follow up on issues with various internal teams. 

-Enhancing and maintaining CI & CD systems for production¬level graphics driver stack

-Collaborating closely with various engineering teams to assist in tracking down and resolving build and integration issues and monitoring automation and manual test results as part of the code promotion process resolving build 

 

Qualifications:

-BASc/BSc (or greater) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

-Excellent technical communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

-Good programming skills with demonstrated experience in C/C++ and Python

-Basic SysAdmin skills - Linux or MacOS

-Good Linux or MacOS shell scripting skills

-Basic understanding of databases, SQL scripting and some report generation

-Outstanding independent cross¬functional problem solving and debugging skills

-Experience compiling and basic debugging of software on MacOS or Linux/Unix 

 

Required Skills:

-5+ years demonstrated software engineering experience (or advanced education equivalent) in Configuration Management and Continuous Integration

-Fast learner, adaptable, self¬ starter who can work both independently and collaborate well within dynamic team environment 

-Strong collaboration and reporting skills.

-Good understanding of Object Oriented design principles 

 

Preferred Skills:

-Knowledge of interop between revision control (SVN, Perforce, Git) and bug tracking systems  (JIRA) 

-Knowledge of GPU and CPU architectures

-Worked in an environment which involved supporting hardware bring-up
