Director of Program Management (Cloud Gaming & VDI) - 93022

 

THE ROLE:

In this high-profile role, you will be the leader of our Data Center Cloud Gaming & VDI Program Management Office.  You will be responsible for the overall program execution from concept to product delivery. As the leader of the Program Management Office, you will work with the business and across multiple Engineering organizations to drive the productization of our leading-edge Data Center Cloud Gaming and VDI solutions to meet overall product and program objectives.

 

THE PERSON:

Minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience in new product development, from SoC or platform design, product or program management discipline, and from organizations developing solutions for data center and cloud. The candidate should have experience as a Technical Lead, Program Manager and Director and must also have a solid understanding of SoC or platform engineering development processes, preferably in high performance GPUs and CPUs, from concept to tape-out and production. In addition, a successful candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and people management skills to lead, motivate, and guide world class engineers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee Design, technology, supply chain, platform, product, software, ecosystem, quality and business functions.
  • Responsible to business leadership and reports out regularly on execution status; facilitates and documents decisions, track and fix issues, and mitigates risk.
  • Delivers on all aspects of the program, in alignment with the customer and Business Division objectives.
  • Manages the collection, scoping and prioritization of incremental business/customer program requests

 

OWNERSHIP OF THE FOLOWING:

  • Delivering of all program commitments from concept exit to production
  • Documenting program-level definition in partnership with Business Teams
  • Managing new business asks and scoping processes, in alignment with the core team
  • Driving consensus on technical decisions that impact final product definition
  • Meeting program cost, schedule, committed features, power, performance
  • Communicating status/issues to key internal/ external stakeholders and customers
  • Tailoring the roles of each core team member according to the program success criteria, including defining cross functional ownership, while effective managing performance of the core team

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to scope a program end to end
  • Solid understanding of financial and management accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management and AMD customers
  • Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
  • Ability to assess and scope Data Center specific features / system requirements and relate them to overall program schedule
  • Deployment of cloud-based instances with a specific focus on security and quality of service
  • The candidate should be a proven leader, be able create and maintain a working cross functional team and manage in a matrixed environment. A successful candidate must have exceptional verbal, as well as written, communication skills. In addition, the role requires outstanding people management skills to lead, motivate, and guide world class engineers.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS or master’s degree in related field preferred.
