Sr. Program Management Analyst
 
AMD Canada plays host to many community and gaming events across the GTA to showcase the technologies and unique contributions that AMD makes to our home. These events include education showcases at the Ontario Science Center, the CNE Gaming Garage, and the Princess Margaret Hospital Quest to Conquer Cancer. We are looking for an experienced program manager who can help to drive these events from concept through to execution.
 
The role involves several core responsibilities including (but not limited to)
•    Negotiating with Event Hosts to align on AMD-partnership responsibilities
•    Working with internal and external teams (including AMD Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Product Management teams) to align on event sponsors, prizes, branding, technology to showcase, etc.
•    Partnering with Vendors to build branding, tournaments, event logistics, broadcasting, etc.
•    Working with Vendors, Event Hosts, and AMD Employee Volunteers to drive our vision for the event & execute successfully
•    Communicating progress updates, requirements, and event plans to site leadership
 
The Program Management role falls within the Software Systems Engineering (SSE) organization which is responsible for driving both product and software quality at AMD.
 
On top of event organization, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with (and contribute to) the vast ecosystem of programs, projects and initiatives involved in producing the software graphics driver and in assuring its quality. You will apply your expertise to track the different activities, ensure updates are communicated, and connect the dots as needed. You will interact with business and technical leaders in strategy, release management, engineering, validation and program management roles to understand their timelines and constraints, and convey the messaging effectively. 
 
The successful candidate is self-motivated and is comfortable working with different aspects of the business – and has a high aptitude for diving in and picking up new things. The candidate thrives in a fast-paced and agile environment and knows how to juggle multiple deadlines. Although the candidate is an independent self-starter and takes the initiative to get things done with minimal supervision, the working environment is an open and collaborative space – so clear communication and enjoying teamwork is a must.
 
The candidate values simplicity, brevity and effective messaging. Attention to detail is imperative. The candidate is able to discern patterns from multiple ongoing activities, take initiative to develop solutions, build relationships and get buy-in to achieve objectives. The candidate values inclusivity and cohesion, and breaks down silos.
 
Additionally, the successful candidate should have a passion for gaming and enjoy sharing that passion with their community!
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Oversee the big picture, drive, and track events from end-to-end
•    Negotiating with Event Hosts to align on AMD-partnership responsibilities
•    Working with internal and external teams (including AMD Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Product Management teams) to align on event sponsors, prizes, branding, technology to showcase, etc.
•    Partnering with Vendors to build branding, tournaments, event logistics, broadcasting, etc.
•    Working with Vendors, Event Hosts, and AMD Employee Volunteers to drive our vision for the event & execute successfully
•    Communicating progress updates, requirements, and event plans to site leadership
•    Participation in other SSE initiatives and programs
 
 
Experience & Skills
•    Excellent project management skills (Project Management Certifications a bonus)
•    Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal and written)
•    Exposure to PC/Console gaming and gaming-related events or competitions & experience in organizing a complex marketing or gaming event
•    Contract management/ Vendor management (and possible Contacts in event management sphere)
•    Managing Budgets
•    Mastery in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint
•    A degree in a technical field is preferred, but not essential
