ABOUT THE TEAM

The AMD RTG Performance Systems Engineering Team is a cutting-edge hardware-based lab team engaged on an array of leading technologies found in today’s leading Discrete Graphics Processing Units (dGPUs).

This team is essential to the success of AMD as a growing company. It is a very exciting environment with a friendly, collaborative, and highly skilled staff and management that will be there to guide you and help you adapt to the role.

The Role:

As Graphics Performance Systems Engineer you will be responsible for post silicon performance evaluation, analysis and optimization of various IPs within AMD’s new and exciting discrete graphics and cloud gaming products.

The Person:

We are looking for someone passionate about product performance, with an understanding of system architecture, our IPs and their workloads to be able to work with cross domain teams in design and SW to deliver highest performing products to our gaming customers. If you are some who loves to play the latest and greatest gaming titles on our top of the line graphics products this may be the job for you. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation, analysis and optimization of RTG IP’s performance used in AMD’s discrete graphics and cloud gaming products
  • Provide hardware-engineering leadership during post-silicon bring-up, product definition and product validation, and production ramp
  • Automation of test cases and methodologies to evaluate the performance of the IPs
  • Debug and analyze the performance of AMD’s IP’s in post-silicon using top gaming workloads and benchmarks
  • Work with silicon architects and post-silicon evaluation teams to evaluate and tune the IPs for optimal performance

Preferred Experience: 

  • Strong technical background in PC systems and graphics
  • Prior background in linux environments and familiarity with virtualization is an asset
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills are mandatory
  • Specific knowledge of computer architecture and workload analysis
  • VHDL/Verilog and C/C++ experience are assets
  • Scripting experience in Perl/Python is preferred
  • Familiarity with processor architectures is a must
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are required for writing reports and e-mails and conducting meetings.

Academic Credentials: 

  • BSc. Or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
