IP System Engineering Program Manager – 93741

 

 

The Role:

The AMD Semi-Custom Business Unit IP Systems Engineering Team is on the lookout for a dynamic, energetic Technical Program Manager to join our growing team.  The Technical Program Manager will work closely with the IP System Engineering Team in managing and driving their execution activities.  As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market.  The IP Systems Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development. 

 

The Person:

We are looking for an experienced in product development resource with knowledge of hardware platforms and related software ecosystems. Specific experience in x86 solutions preferred and the person must be well-organized, technically oriented, and a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate the activities of geographically distributed technical teams. This person will also possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills and be comfortable in fast paced environments that can change quickly

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and driving the execution of IP system engineering functions to enable best in class customer solutions
  • Drives the IP System Engineering team to meet the AMD product solution deliverables and schedules
  • Ensures alignment with customers’ requirements to ensure highest level customer satisfaction throughout their product lifecycle
  • Engages with technical leadership team to understand and document program scope, establish integrated schedules, assess, and manage program progress and risk, and assist with resource and budget plans
  • Engages with technical leadership and IP teams to further innovations and improvements within the org
  • Drives project-level improvements such as those to improve metrics, readouts, and other status deliverables to internal and external audiences
  • Represents the IP Systems Engineering organization in corporate and executive planning and execution forums
  • Architects’ efficiency solutions including driving efforts to improve the quality of deliverables

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experienced in product development with hardware platforms and related software ecosystems. Specific experience in x86 solutions preferred.
  • Must be well-organized, technically oriented, and a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and coordinate the activities of geographically distributed technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations.
  • Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management
  • Ability to quickly adapt to dynamic business situations and technical requirements
  • Excellent analytical, project planning, and management skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Energized by working in a fast-paced technical organization and multi-site environment
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
  • Strong MS Excel, Project, VBA, and other similar productivity software experience
  • Strong fundamentals in Agile development methodologies, including Scrum-style management, Kanban, and other paradigms

Assets:

  • Experienced with data analysis platforms such as PowerBI
  • Experience with Ruby, Python, and other scripting languages
  • Experience with hardware and software development paradigms
  • Experience with basic hardware development lab processes, tools, and concepts

 

Academic Credentials:

Bachelors in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science a must with a PMP preferred but not mandatory.
