Silicon Validation Lead Engineer

 

The Role : The AMD NBIO Team is on the lookout for a dynamic, energetic IOMMU Silicon Validation Lead  Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market.  The NBIO Team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

 

The Person : Are you a Senior Validation Engineer who can drive debug feature and debug tools validation improvements into validation flows that scale from pre-silicon verification to emulation to post silicon? Are you able to work collaboratively across multiple teams? We need your skills to help improve our world class products.

 

Responsibilties:

This team is responsible for defining and developing AMD’s IO virtualization digital IP. We are also responsible for silicon bring-up, working with software and external partners to enable AMD’s I/O Virtualization technologies in a wide range of products.

 

As Silicon Validation Engineer, you will be accountable to find design implementation bugs through pre/post-silicon system level validation. We are looking for a Senior person who has a proven record of working across teams to tackle problems.

 

  • Responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans/ coverage, and debug of failures Responsible for validating the functionality of new architectural features of next generation designs by developing test plans, tests content, coverage points
  • Driving technical innovation to enhance AMD’s capabilities in IP validation/verification, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Debug of IP issues found during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.
  • Working closely with supporting teams in design, diagnostics, emulation, firmware, and driver to ensure readiness for first silicon arrival, enablement of IP functionality, and debug of critical features.
  • Engaging on pre-silicon verification efforts, including but not limited to FPGA-based emulation, Design Verification (DV), and other software/hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Leading collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues and roll out technical initiatives.
  • Developing knowledge of system architecture/debug and other IP’s.
  • Supporting issues on customer platforms as requested by customer support teams.

Preferred Experience & Skill sets :

  

  • Experience with post-silicon testing and bring-up
  • Experience on C/UVM an pre-silicon verification is a plus
  • Using Lab Equipment (Oscilliscopes, logic analyzers, probes)
  • Programming and scripting languages (C, Assembly, Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Basic debug skills to isolate issues between boards, sockets, and devices
  • Experience with tools including JTAG and kernel debuggers
  • Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including clock/power delivery, sequencing, analysis and optimization.
  • Experience troubleshooting low level software and hardware issues
  • Experience with large scale automation & data analysis techniques

 

EDUCATION:

  • Major in EE, CS or related in Master or Bachelor's degree
