Performance Characterization and Benchmarking Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

The Performance Characterization and Benchmarking Engineer will drive performance validation as their core focus - from planning, to execution, to result analysis. This person is the key liaison with other performance labs to drive cross-functional collaboration, best practices, and process improvement. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Drive performance requirements from planning to validation for various product features across all software components by working with product management, engineering and QA
  • Drive Stronger product requirements (architectural & business) that relate to performance
  • Analyze program roadmaps, use cases, and technical documentation including design architecture to understand performance implications and impact. Translate impact/observations into actionable plans to ensure no performance gaps
  • Analysis of performance results and trends
  • Collaborate across domains (HW, SW, Power, Software QA, etc) and providing their technical expertise to ensure consistency and drive alignment on methodologies / best practices as it relates to data collection, reporting and analysis, too, infrastructure used, acceptable baselines and comparisons, etc... 

 

THE PERSON:

  • The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion and vested interest in PC performance and the underlying technology. They should be an avid consumer of PC and Graphics Component reviews, and have a great understanding of the data collection methodologies and analysis involved.
  • The candidate should be organized, be a go-getter, and a good communicator - a key part of the role will be building up new processes so waiting on direction will not be an option... 
  • A collaborative personality is a must
  • Would have relevant work experience and understand performance data as both a consumer/enthusiast, as well as from an engineering/technical perspective

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • A Strong understanding of Hardware and Software System Architecture and their implications on performance
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • The ability to read and understand system level code and hardware schematics/architecture

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
