MTS System Design Automation Engineer

The RTG Platform Validation Group is looking for an automation development expert who will become a key pillar in automating functional and stress tests of AMD GPUs and APUs. This role will require in depth understanding of upcoming GPU/APU SOCs and IPs as well as the capability to leverage a breadth of software technologies and test methodologies to support and enhance the existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, design and develop in-house automation infrastructure used for GPU/APU validation and manufacturing
  • Develop deep understanding of upcoming AMD SOCs, IPs and programming libraries to enable framework
  • Guide and enable team members on programming and automation aspects
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive strategic process improvements

 

 

Qualification

  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly
  • Knowledge in hardware programming, bring up and test methodology
  • Hands on software development, programming, debugging and test automation experience
  • Programming fluency in Ruby, Perl, Python and/or C++. OO design preferred
  • Understanding of software design patterns, best practices and API design
  • Demonstrated understanding of PC Platform Architecture, with hands-on experience in assembling PCs from components, set-up, configuration
  • Experience in cross OS development in Linux and windows environment preferred
  • VM and containers control are an asset
  • Familiar with source controls systems like Perforce, SVN and Git
  • Knowledge of web front/backend technologies, such as relational databases, Ruby on Rails/React etc
  • Interest in upcoming technologies, PC gaming and natural curiosity are a plus
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills and ability & desire to work as a great teammate
  • BS (EE) 5-7+ years or MS + 3-5+ years
