Design Verification Lead Architect Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced design verification professional to take on the role of design verification architect for several high-speed IO controller IPs.  She/He will be heavily involved in charting verification strategy, defining the test bench architecture and evaluating/deployment new DV methodologies with the goal of enabling scalable IP DV strategy needed to support AMD’s aggressive product roadmap.

 

In this highly visible role, the qualified candidate will interact closely with lead designers, system architects, other DV architects and lead a small-to-medium size global team on the execution of projects and initiatives.  This role will also provide exposure to senior level management (Directors/VPs) within AMD through critical program reviews, status reporting and handling of escalations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for defining various aspects of the overall IP verification flow and methodology (test planning, test/testbench architect, DV sign-off, new methodologies).
  • Lead a small-to-medium size global verification team on project execution and/or deployment of new methodologies by providing technical leadership, distribution/prioritization of tasks and tracking of progress.
  • Architect and hands-on development of testbench components as well as developing test and sequence libraries, by applying Objected Oriented Programming Verification techniques following UVM methodology.
  • Deploy the latest verification tools and methodologies.
  • Provide executive level readouts and status reports to all levels of management within AMD.
  • Identify, drive and develop efficiency and IP quality improvement initiatives to ensure long term scalability.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in the ASIC industry including a design verification lead or DV architecture role.
  • Strong background in ASIC Design Flow
  • Expertise in constrained random verification methodologies.  Formal verification experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Verilog, C++, System Verilog, Perl and Python.
  • Extensive experience verifying complex designs using UVM, OVM or VMM
  • Familiarity with industry standard high-speed protocols such as PCIe, SATA, USB.
  • Experience with verification of Hardware-Firmware interaction is highly desirable.
  • Able to develop creative and efficient solutions for code-automation (i.e. repetitive code, auto-connectivity, etc).

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS (or higher) degree in Electronics/Electrical or Computer Engineering desired
