The AMD SCBU System Engineering team is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and creative leader who will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing an IP system engineering team. Your team is responsible for validation and debug of key IPs, such as display, virtualization, and multimedia, on products which have previously included the Playstation5 and Xbox One Series X game consoles. Their works spans pre- and post-silicon phases, and they engage with hardware, software, and diagnostic teams to ensure silicon success and rapid validation and enablement of SCBU products.

 

As the manager of an IP systems engineering team, you will lead a team that drives and enhances AMD’s abilities to deliver industry leading technologies to customers. You will shape the course of the team's development while achieving AMD's broader goals. Within the team, you will provide opportunities for your engineers to develop technical depth, facilitate their career development, and encourage continuous technical innovation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a distributed team of 10 engineers, with special attention on developing their careers by mentoring and providing technical guidance
  • Driving day-to-day team operations, including the enablement and validation of video, display, audio, ISP, data transfer, virtualization, and multimedia technologies on SCBU products
  • Participate in and implement organizational strategy such as future program planning and productivity improvements
  • Leading a team culture of identifying, describing, and implementing changes to validation methodologies to increase efficiency and product quality
  • Providing broad system knowledge and assist driving technical issues to resolution
  • Enhance collaboration across teams inside and outside the SCBU organization

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in engineering management and technical leadership experience in HW and FW development for SoCs
  • Project management experience working directly with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in multimedia, display, and virtualization technologies
  • Experience generating process improvement concepts and driving execution
  • Demonstrated success in working across geographies and cross functional teams
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to connect with a variety of engineering fields and management
  • Excel in a dynamic team working environment
  • Self-starter, strong collaborator, and able to independently drive tasks to completion, drive highly ambiguous tasks

 

Assets:

  • Recent experience in the semiconductor industry blending engineering expertise with team leadership
  • Experience with automation and validation methodologies
  • Experience with FPGA and SoC emulation
  • Broad knowledge of System Architectures and Implementations

 

 

Academic Credentials:

  • BS/MS Engineering or suitable equivalent
