Mixed-Signal IP Post-Silicon Validation Engineer – Member of Technical Staff

 

The Role

AMD’s Low Power Advanced Development team is seeking talented, self-motivated individuals to help develop low power innovations that enable industry-leading power efficient computing and graphics products.  We have openings for R&D engineers to serve as key contributors in small project teams working on low power advanced development projects. 

 

The Person

A job seeker seeking challenging projects in low power design using the latest modern semiconductor technologies, who is eager to learn and collaborate.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Mixed-Signal IP Post-Si validation, debugging, tuning, and bring-up
  • Interface with architecture, design and production teams
  • Bench testing platforms
  • Scripting and coding firmware
  • Power management algorithm design

 

Preferred Experience

  • Lab Experience: proficient in assembling test hardware for remote or local testing, thermal control devices, working with oscilloscopes, function generators and other key lab equipment
  • Understand power measurement techniques and data collection and analysis
  • Background in power conversion and delivery for digital logic device, ideally x86 CPUs or GPUs
  • Hardware debug methods and tools
  • Familiarity with digital logic power management techniques (clock gating, power gating, V-F curves, on-die voltage regulation, clock integrity, PLL, clock generators, etc..)
  • C++, Ruby, Python, Linux BASH scripting and Windows scripting
  • RTL Verilog coding experience
  • Familiarity in networking and network tools (ssh, ping, etc.)
  • Database and Data Analysis experience
  • Experience and/or familiarity in Design-for-Debug techniques and architectures is preferred

 

Academic Credentials:  Master's degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering
