Physical Design Engineer

THE ROLE:

The Toronto Physical Design team is looking for an experienced ASIC design engineer to drive the successful execution and completion for portions of the GPU / SOC Physical Design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To effectively work within a team of other Physical Design Engineers and be responsible for the Physical Design for a portion of one of our ASIC’s.
• Tasks to include Chip Level Floor planning, Bus / Pin Planning, Clock Tree Synthesis, Placement, Optimization, Routing, Parasitic Extraction, Static Timing Analysis, IR drop analysis, Physical Verification and Sign Off.
• Flow development and scripting.
• Technical problem solving.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience in ASIC Design with relevant Physical Design Skills preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills along with attention to details.
• Strong communication, Time Management and Presentation Skills.
• Working experience on CAD tools from Synopsys, Cadence and Mentor Graphics preferred.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Minimum BSEE/CE, or equivalent degree, Masters preferred.
