Software Process Quality Architect

The Role:

The SSE Strategic Alignment and Analytics team ensures that the 300-strong Software Systems Engineering organization driving product and software quality at AMD is a well-oiled machine. The team develops the strategy and initiatives to drive alignment across the organization and with the rest of the company.

As a Process Quality Architect, you will become familiar with the vast ecosystem of tools, processes and data sources making up the AMD product development lifecycle. You will craft, develop and deploy collection procedures for metrics at each lifecycle phase. Interacting with business and technical leaders in strategy, release management, engineering, validation and program management roles is crucial to this role’s success.

You live and breathe “quality”. This is evident in the procedures you will be developing that (1) address issues highlighted by the metrics collected, (2) ensure stakeholders understand the impact and, (3) secure swift action.

The Person:

The successful candidate is self-motivated and is at ease working with a broad set of tools, languages, and technologies – and has a high aptitude for diving in and adjusting to different paradigms. The candidate thrives in a fast-paced and agile environment and knows how to balance multiple deadlines. The working environment is an open and collaborative space, so clear communication and enjoying teamwork is a must. The candidate is comfortable negotiating and forging win-win scenarios, and values simplicity, brevity and clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect quality standards across the entire product lifecycle
  • Set up monitoring and response frameworks
  • Develop and deploy procedures when key triggers are activated
  • Build and maintain a “living” process and quality map of the entire product lifecycle

Preferred Experience:

  • A post-graduate degree in engineering, computer science, or other quality-related field
  • Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal and written)
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of quality standards (e.g., ISO 25010)
  • Extensive experience in change management and successful deployment of large-scale projects

Academic Credentials:

A post-graduate degree in engineering, computer science, or other quality-related field
