Product, Power and Performance Attainment Systems Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

We are a cutting-edge systems engineering team focused on DGPU products that deliver performance leadership and superior power efficiency.  The team is passionate about power and performance with primary responsibilities in emulation, post-silicon bring-up, feature and workload optimization and characterization, debug and product optimization.

 

The successful candidate will drive, execute and debug end-to-end validation and optimization tests for power and performance from emulation to production.

 

The successful candidate will develop new methodologies and tools to evaluate the silicon, while leaning on cutting edge technology to deliver product leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the product definition for AMD’s graphics products: push the boundaries of performance and minimize power
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams in silicon design, board design engineering, software, program management, customer engineering, product engineering and reliability engineers to develop the most compelling DGPU products in the market
  • Lead the evaluation, analysis and optimization of DGPU power and performance
  • Provide systems-engineering leadership during pre-silicon planning, post-silicon bring-up, product definition and product validation, and production ramp
  • Engaged in the pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of the design
  • Lead planning activities and developing test cases and methodologies to evaluate power and performance
  • Develop pre-silicon models to predict and evaluate future designs
  • Be the link between design and physical silicon
  • Optimize features for system and power management IP
  • Debug and analyze the performance of AMD’s IP’s in post-silicon using tools and benchmarks
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities
  • Work with silicon architects and post-silicon evaluation teams to evaluate and tune the IP’s for optimal power and performance
  • Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and power

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong technical background in PC systems and graphics
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills are mandatory
  • Specific knowledge of computer architecture and workload analysis
  • VHDL/Verilog and C/C++ experience are assets
  • Good understanding of computer organization/architecture
  • Deep understanding of digital electronics
  • Understanding of Power/thermal management
  • Extensive laboratory experience, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Strong analytical /problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • A B. Sc. Or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience
