 RTL Design Engineer GFXIP Mobile, Member of Technical Staff

 

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a member of technical staff in ASIC design to join the leading edge GFXIP team focusing on mobile space applications. You will work in a team of highly motivated engineers delivering the GFXIP subsystem to a wide range of mobile products in the next generation of technologies. You will closely work with the design lead and verification engineers for IP development. In addition, you will also interact with customers to provide technical support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In the first three to six months, you will learn the existing design and the technology; be able to triage the design issues.
  • Work closely with the design lead to comprehend the microarchitecture specification, use-cases, and its expected performance and power targets.
  • Develop functional and RTL implementation specifications to achieve the expected functionality, performance, and power.
  • Provide usecase/workload-based scenarios to design verification team as verification requirements.
  • Able to create the development plan and successfully execute it.
  • Proactively raise, drive and resolve any issues that arise during the development stage with good technical judgment.
  • Able to deliver on commitment with high quality and on schedule.
  • Validate and qualify the design through simulation, formal verification, and Lab equipment.
  • Mentor Junior engineers to complete their tasks

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7 years of ASIC design work experience
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the entire design process from design specification, defining the architecture, micro-architecture, RTL design and functional verification, synthesis, timing, and formal verification
  • Working knowledge base in algorithmic designs, power-saving, and performance improvements
  • Proficiency of Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Experience in IP development
  • Experience in design for verification (assertion-based design strategies, functional coverage, etc)
  • Design knowledge of data processing, arbitration algorithms, protocol designs and graphics processing technology, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong in both written and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly to other engineers and customers

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • B.A. Sc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
  • M.A. Sc or Ph.D preferred
