SCBU Digital Logic IP Systems Engineer - System Management + Power Management

 

The AMD Semi-Custom Business Unit IP Systems Engineering Team is seeking an energetic, experience IP Systems Engineer to join our growing team.  As an IP Systems Engineer, you will drive the planning, verification, silicon bring-up and debug of System Management and Power Management IP as well as contributing to development of related firmware for forthcoming AMD Semi-Custom SOC programs.

 

As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s IP, you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The IP Systems Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining and executing the overall HW/FW functional test plans and verification strategy for System Management and Power Management IP
  • Driving technical innovation to enhance AMD’s capabilities in IP validation/verification, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.
  • Engage with pre-silicon verification efforts, including but not limited to FPGA-based emulation, Design Verification (DV), and other software/hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Own development of firmware designed for an embedded u-controller in C
  • Own occasional creation of utility software using C++, perl, php
  • Debug of IP HW or FW issues found during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC program
  • Lead collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues and roll out technical initiatives
  • Supporting issues on customer platforms as requested by customer support teams

 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience with low level software/firmware and embedded systems as well as post-silicon verification
  • Excellent knowledge of C, C++, assembly and scripting languages
  • Extensive experience with IP/system level bring-up, ASIC debug techniques and methodologies
  • Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including clock/power delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
  • Extensive knowledge of Graphics, Display, Multimedia, PCIe, System Management, Power Management, Security and/or IO architecture & design is a strong asset.
  • Emulation experience an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of system architectures and concepts an asset
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must excel in a dynamic team working environment
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
  • Technical Leadership and mentoring skills a definite asset

 

 

Education:

Bachelor, Master's or PhD degree in Electrical or Computer engineering or related degrees
