Graphics IP Hardware Lead - 105584

THE ROLE:

As part of the Radeon Technology department, the Radeon Graphics IPs Enablement Lead will be responsible for owning the bring-up and debug support of the latest graphics IPs for AMD’s APU products. In this role, you will be providing hardware-engineering support during pre-silicon planning, post-silicon bring-up, product definition, product validation and production ramp. The candidate will be involved in the pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of the design.

 

The person:

This position requires a candidate with a strong technical background in PC systems and graphics. Strong leadership, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills are a must! Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) are required for writing reports and emails and conducting meetings.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • In the pre-silicon phase you will lead planning activities and develop creative solutions and processes to meet aggressive post-silicon schedules while working intimately with the silicon design engineers and platform design engineers.

  • In the post-silicon phase, as prototypes are received, using your pre-silicon knowledge, you will lead system engineering and silicon design teams through the various phases of bring-up, product definition, product validation and production ramp while working in the laboratory debugging hardware issues.

  • Work closely with the lead system engineer and the program team to report the latest progress for the graphics IPs and will be the hub between the program team and the IP areas.

  • Occasionally assist the customer engineering team to address customer design issues, as needed.

  • You will be the link between design and the physical silicon.

  • You will have the opportunity to work closely with silicon design engineers as well as participate in and/or lead interdisciplinary teams (hardware, software, program management, customer engineering, operations, marketing and sales).

  • You will be expected to handle multiple programs in parallel.

 

Preferred experience:

  • Prior relevant working experience

  • Specific knowledge of high-speed digital design, analog design, laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.), debugging motherboards, memory interfaces, bus interfaces, silicon manufacturing and testing, silicon verification, failure analysis, and application engineering

  • VHDL/Verilog and C/C++ knowledge is an asset

 

Academic credentials:

  • A B. Sc. In Electrical/Computer Engineering
