AMD designs and develops cutting-edge computer and graphics processing technologies that are used throughout the world in business, enterprise, and consumer markets. AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) SOC team at AMD’s Markham location is driving frontend top level verification and integration work for AMD’s next generation datacenter compute and ML products.  As a verification team we support the full frontend development of the ASIC designs in our aggressive roadmap.  We collaborate with our SOC and IP team colleagues in the US, India and China, along with third party vendors.  We are looking to complement our verification team with junior to intermediate engineer who can are eager to work hard and to contribute towards our project execution and design verification infrastructure. 




  • Supports the flows to setup and compile our simulation and emulation environment, through a variety of internal/external tools and flows. 
  • Acts as a project curator (at a subsystem level), and maintains the health of the testbench by imposing sanity checks and triaging failures. 
  • Works with senior engineer to scopes out the testbench architecture. 
  • Assists IP to release its codes to SOC and resolve interdepencies with other IP and SOC codes.
  • Drives discussion with functional verification engineers in SOC and IP and firmware teams and comes up with a testbench infrastructure to faciliate various requirements simulating with RTL, microcode, and UVC/BFM.
  • Monitor and attack simulation performance problems, and invest time into new options that might help us optimize and improve our sim performance.  
  • Develop the flows and coding guidances to ensure reusabilty between IP and SOC verification level.

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Computer Science
  • 0 to 3 years of ASIC design and verification experience and deep knowldge of GPU
  • Familiarity with verilog and system verilog, and strong knowledge of C/C++, perl and ruby
  • Must know Object-oriented programming, and class-based structure
  • Experience with UVM is an asset
  • Good understanding of ASIC design fundamentals, machine learning and computer architecture
  • Proven debugging and problem analysis skills
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Good people and project management skills and organized and methodical with proven ability to plan and execute
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced, pressure filled environment
  • Flexible in terms of responsibilities and hours
