SOC Design Verification Engineer - SMTS

 

DESCRIPTION:

AMD designs and develops cutting-edge computer and graphics processing technologies that are used throughout the world in business, enterprise, and consumer markets. AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) SOC team at AMD’s Markham location is driving frontend top level verification and integration work for AMD’s next generation datacenter compute and ML products.  As a verification team we support the full frontend development of the ASIC designs in our aggressive roadmap.  We collaborate with our SOC and IP team colleagues in the US, India and China, along with third party vendors.  We are looking to complement our verification team with junior to intermediate engineer who can are eager to work hard and to contribute towards our project execution and design verification infrastructure. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Architect the flows to setup and compile our simulation and emulation environment, through a variety of internal/external tools and flows. 
  • Maintain infrastructure backbone of the DV environment, Perforce branch and LSF. 
  • Act as a project curator and work with multiple IPs for deliverable and find resolution to resolve interdependency issues as they are arised. 
  • Supervise junior engineers, and execute top-down initiatlives project-over-project
  • Work with Verification Methodology Team to align cross project direction and enhance VIP reusability. 
  • Drive discussion with functional verification engineers in SOC and IP and firmware teams and comes up with a testbench infrastructure to faciliate various requirements simulating with RTL, microcode, and UVC/BFM.
  • Work with vendor's AE to tackle simulation performance issues

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a Bachelor's / Masters degree in Engineering Science/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Computer Science 
  • 8 to10 years of ASIC design verification or DV methodology experience.  
  • Strong passion working with a mega size project
  • Familiar with verilog and system verilog, and strong knowledge of C/C++, perl and ruby
  • Proven experince with testbench infrastructure on SOC ASIC. 
  • Must know Object-oriented programming, and class-based structure
  • Proven knowledge on how to build up a verification testbench using UVM
  • Good understanding of ASIC design fundamentals, machine learning and computer architecture
  • Previous experience with Synopsys simulation CAD tool or similar tool - Verdi, VCS, VCLP, Lint
  • Proven debugging and problem analysis skills
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Good people and project management skills and organized and methodical with proven ability to plan and execute
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced, pressure filled environment
