THE ROLE:

The SOC RTG team develops leading edge discrete graphics SOCs. The team owns SOC execution and is actively engaged from architecture to production. Working as part of the SOC leadership team, candidates will gain knowledge in system and IP level design, SOC architecture and implementation strategies.

THE PERSON:

  • Must have good communication & analytical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and debugging skills

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run UPFGen regression to generate UPF for various type of tiles and update the UPFs as the design of chip evolves throughout various SOC milestones.
  • Solid experience in developing power intent using UPF and running static low power verification tools such as Synopsys VC-LP.
  • Develop top-level UPF and regress Full-Chip VC-LP to catch illegal power crossings across the chip.
  • Engage with synthesis team to drive closure to tile-level static VSI checks, adjust UPFs accordingly and provide feedback to design teams where design fixes required.
  • Support Design Verification team in bringing up Power-aware tests, debug power-aware compile violations and engage with design owners to fix Power-intent design bugs.
  • Work with global Front-End design team and physical design team for large scale ASIC chip physical implementation.
  • Drive design and methodology improvements across teams to improve overall program execution
  • Participate in defining and implementing Design for Power (DFP) methodologies (power-gating/voltage islands).

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency with Verilog RTL design language
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Perl for developing in-house scripts/parses/automation is a big plus!
  • Familiarity with digital logic power management techniques (clock gating, power gating, on-die voltage regulation, clock integrity, etc.)
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the entire design process from design specification, defining architecture, micro-architecture, RTL design and functional verification, Synthesis, Physical Design, to Timing closure and Tape-out.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
