Senior JIRA Analyst

AMD is currently seeking an experienced JIRA Analyst for a fulltime role at our Markham, Ontario office.

THE ROLE:

  • Assist in technical feasibility study, evaluate and analyst user requirements, and recommend solutions
  • Source data from legacy systems, effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
  • Be responsible for overall application systems design, balancing optimization of application access with resource utilization factors.
  • Focus primarily on information and document requirements for data, workflow, logical process, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  • Identify where functionality can and cannot meet user requests
  • Provide time and resource estimates to assist in the planning of projects.
  • Develop tools and methodologies to improve the effectiveness of the development process
  • Collaborate effectively with other technical teams to exploit new technologies to enhance the applications and service infrastructure.

 

Ideal candidate will:

  • Be knowledgeable in all aspects of JIRA supporting and constructing application systems and information architectures.
  • Have in depth knowledge of the SDLC and process improvement methodologies.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques.
  • Be comfortable in assisting project teams develop requirement and design specifications for new and existing applications.
  • Have in-depth experience designing and implementing applications and information solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate to senior level experience (3+ years), with Atlassian JIRA including tool administration ,customization, support and troubleshooting in enterprise scale JIRA datacenter
  • Experience in plan and execute JIRA migrations and upgrade to JIRA Data center on AWS
  • Experience creating JIRA templates, custom issues and workflows, custom forms and attributes
  • Experience in using/extending REST API Services provided by Atlassian.
  • Strong work experience in JVM, AWS, Azure, Linux, Unix shell scripting, JavaScript, VB Script, Java, XML, JSP, Oracle DB, Postgres DB, MS SQL, MS Reporting Services, PERL, Python and should have utilized this skill set in multiple projects.
  • In depth knowledge of the SDLC and process improvement methodologies; preferably with Agile Kanban/Scrum.
  • Be aware of facilities for extending the tools, for the extensions and integration to JIRA or other Atlassian stack applications
  • Experience-on JIRA analyze and respond to performance diagnostics.
  • Good Verbal and Written communication skills.
  • Write clear, concise and comprehensive technical documentation

Nice to have experience:

  • continuous integration/development experiences including GIT version control tool.
  • Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring and load performance test framework/tools
  • ACP-100 Jira Administrator Certification
  • ACP-500 Atlassian System Administrator
