GRAPHICS CORE IP Engineer - New Graduates


As a Silicon Design Engineer, you will work with leading industry tools and design/verification concepts to contribute to the development of micro-architecture and a variety of digital design blocks which are a part of the Graphics Core IP (GFXIP).  You will work closely with architects, other design engineers and the verification team and will also collaborate with the Physical Design (PD) and Power Attainment teams to reach performance and power targets. May also be required to support post-silicon bring-up, diagnostics and validation teams.


A project usually has a year timeline and there are many products that the GFXIP is deployed into, including servers for High Performance Computing (HPC), main-stream plus gaming desktops and laptops, mobile devices, workstations, machine-intelligence GPUs and gaming consoles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Computer Architecture and abilities in Digital Logic Design and should strive to continuously learn on the job.  Excellent communication, organization and teamwork skills are paramount, as is the ability to identify and tackle different problems with diligence, whether it is a tool, flow or process issue, or a logic design or architecture issue.  You should be able strike a balance between collaborative problem-solving and independent solution development.   



  • Study and analyze to gain a deep understanding of high-level architectural and micro-architecture specifications for Graphics Core IP blocks – complex cores that are the center of the Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) used for a variety of applications
  • Collaborate with chip architects and other design engineers to develop micro-architecture specifications
  • Digital logic design in Verilog and SystemVerilog including writing SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and cover properties to ensure highest quality
  • Assist in Formal Property Verification (FPV) by working closely with FPV team to drive high confidence in the critical areas of the design earlier on during project life cycle
  • Collaborate with the verification team to provide guidance and requirements to ensure 0 post-silicon bug escapes



  • Solid fundamental understanding of Computer Architecture and Digital Design concepts
  • RTL design or SVA development experience from beginning (concept-phase) to end (tape-out)
  • Several years of relevant ASIC IP design experience preferred
  • Experience with Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Familiar with synthesis tools and flows; able to read and understand Static Timing Analysis (STA) reports, area reports
  • Familiarity with scripting languages: perl or tcl or bash/csh, etc
  • Experience with developing design assertions (SVA), coverage, lint and design methodologies
  • Exposure to design and verification tools - VCS or equivalent simulator, debug tools such as Verdi and waveform viewers



  • Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
