We, Video HW IP/Solution Group at AMD Markham site, are looking for an ASIC Design Verification Engineer who will work in an established IP FPGA team. The role will require the candidate to initially acquire background knowledge of VCN IP core, test suite, and FPGA acceleration verification methodology. Subsequently the candidate will be responsible to develop additional functional and performance tests along with the corresponding design verification activities with IP teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work under the direction of team leads or senior members
  • Create micro architecture and specifications for HW FPGA acceleration solution infrastructure.
  • Develop Verilog and C++ bus functional models.
  • Design and implement testbenches in Verilog and C/C++.
  • Port Verilog RTL designs to FPGA platform.
  • Specify FPGA timing constraints, analyze and fix timing failures.
  • Develop or adapt test libraries, emulation models, and test cases from existing IP.
  • Perform subsystem and multi-IP verification.
  • Develop or adapt, and verify subsystem performance test.
  • Automate and improve test suite efficiency.
  • Work with ASIC design team to debug test failures at subsystem and chip level.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
 

  • Minimum BSEE/CE, or equivalent degree.
  • 1+ years of hands-on design verification experience in FPGA based design and verification suite.
  • FPGA acceleration concept for design verification
  • C/C++ software development skill set.
  • Verilog hardware development skill set.
  • Scripting experience with csh and Perl.
  • Experience with simulation and other DV tools are good assets
  • SystemC, and System Verilog knowledge are good assets.
  • Strong problem solving skills, and attention to details.
  • Good interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • An organized, enthusiastic self-starter, strong interest in hardware verification methodologies.
