3D/ML Software Engineer 2

The Role:

We are looking for an outstanding software engineer or developer with a passion and demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new methods (e.g. from open-source code and academic papers), develop prototypes, invent new techniques and put the best ones in production.

 

The Person:

To be successful in this role, you need to be highly motivated and passionate about programming. You must love solving technical problems, think outside the box, and be versatile enough to go where the challenges take you.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • During your first 3 months, you will extend and develop new features of a new 3D game benchmark analysis tool written in modern Python (nbdev) and Julia. You will become the primary owner of this tool:
  • Quickly absorb the required information from the original author of the tool, who will be your direct manager
  • Develop new features as needed to integrate new games and benchmarks in the tool
  • Further automate data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Help collect performance analysis data for current and future AMD graphics products as well as competitive products.
  • Share key insights to remote teams, e.g. 3D graphics HW and SW architects, designers
  • Once that first tool is mature, you will continue to maintain it part-time, and join another project involving new technologies, e.g. 3D graphics, deep learning, Julia programming language.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years experience programming in Python 3.x is required.
  • Experience developing in C++, Julia and other languages is highly desired
  • 3D graphics algorithms, APIs and game development experience is highly desired.
  • Experience programming any of the following also highly desired: Machine Learning, Deep Learning (e.g. Pytorch, FastAI), Computer Vision, advanced math
  • Experienced with Windows and Linux operating systems, PC system setup and troubleshooting
  • Very strong aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to prioritize and manage priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Works optimally both independently and in a team environment

 

Academic Credentials:

  • College diploma or University degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Portfolio of original, technically challenging personal programming projects, or contribution to open-source projects
