THE ROLE:

 

We are currently looking for a software engineer in Markham, Canada to join the DirectX/Direct3D driver development team targeting support for AMD GPUs. This engineer will be involved in the development, debug, bring-up, and performance tuning of new graphics hardware running on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. The position will involve interfacing with other AMD software/hardware teams and possibly Microsoft Windows OS architecture teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key objectives of this role will be to develop and maintain DX driver support for Windows Operating Systems.  Primary focus will be on new products/platforms, including Workstation, and the latest DX driver version and features (DX12).
  • Near term focus of the role will focus on triage of production driver quality and performance issues with support and mentoring from senior staff.
  • Long term opportunity to grow into a leadership role and/or key contributor within the D3D driver organization.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• C and C++ programming experience

• Working knowledge of Computer Architecture and Windows Operating Systems

• Some exposure to D3D, OpenGL, or other graphics application programming

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Preferred BS or higher degree in CS/CE or related field
