The Role:

The Cloud & Virtualization Software QA Team is looking for a Software System Designer 2 who would be primarily responsible for qualifying host and guest drivers across multiple hypervisors. Apart from test execution, the candidate would be expected to maintain test infrastructure comprising of servers and participate in process optimizations and test automation initiatives. The candidate should have an interest in gaming in general with a clear understanding of the cloud gaming landscape. Occasionally, the candidate would also be expected to debug, and triage issues reported by customers and engage with the Cloud & Virtualization Software development team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and qualify AMD drivers across hypervisors and operating systems.
  • Scope and estimate resources based on Engineering and Marketing requirements
  • Build and maintain test infrastructure and continuously keep it up to date.
  • Define/develop/execute regression test models and track the results.
  • Develop new test cases/plans and optimize existing ones.
  • Prepare and present status reports on the progress of the validation activities and issues discovered.
  • Actively coordinate with multiple teams to drive quality issues and issues that block testing to closure.
  • Evaluate and review existing processes and continuously strive to optimize the workflow.
  • Participate in the test, automation to improve the test efficiency and coverage.
  • Participate in debugging and triage of customer-reported issues and work closely with the development and accounts team to drive the issue to closure.


Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and experience with hypervisors and operating systems. Prior experience with Microsoft Azure, VMware ESXi, AWS AppStream or/and graphics is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with PC/server hardware setup and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with requirement management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Should possess good problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Prior experience of scripting with Python, PowerShell, and Bash is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and simplified Chinese, both written and oral are required.
  • Could handle project execution and be a good organizer and coordinator.


Academic Credentials:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent from a university with 1-2 years of experience.
