Software System Design 2 (Software Triage and Debug) - Product Solution Team

 

THE ROLE:

The Product Solutions Team is uniquely positioned between the business units defining AMD’s graphics products, and product testing teams. Primary team objectives include reviewing, defining, and validating the experiences that our customers have while interacting with our products, and supporting the end-to-end product lifecycle from definition through product retirement.

 

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with a strong focus on improving the user experience for our Adrenalin and Enterprise driver releases. We are looking for someone who is passionate about software quality and problem solving, and has a relentless focus on customer satisfaction. You will be working with a group of debug engineers and engaging very closely with the Radeon Vanguard community to identify, prioritize, reproduce, analyze and debug driver defects, including community concerns, driving them to resolution. You will be working with new GPU hardware and software features helping to ensure that the end user experience is nothing short of exceptional.

 

 THE PERSON:

A successful candidate will hold extensive PC gaming knowledge or extensive knowledge in 3D content creation and Professional Graphics or CAD applications. Interest and participation within gaming communities is a big plus. The candidate will possess a deep understanding of PC and graphics hardware. Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and strong problem-solving skills are also required of the candidate. The working environment is an open and collaborative space, so enjoying to work in a team environment is a must.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate complaints and issues reported by end users, the Radeon Software Vanguard Community, or key AMD customers into language that can be utilized by AMD Engineering teams
  • Reproduce and analyze end-user reported quality issues, and working with engineering teams to prioritize and drive to resolution
  • Communicate key status updates for high-impact issues
  • Report key resolution metrics to establish strategies for end user experience improvement
  • Align with test teams to drive retrospective / post mortem activities to improve test coverage and software release quality
  • Investigate user suggestions and product issues.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive understanding of gaming community social spaces
  • Understanding of PC graphics software and hardware for gaming
  • Traditional social media and streaming broadcasting platforms
  • Rich background in PC gaming, competitive PC gaming, or Workstation/Professional Graphics
  • Experience with software development or QA processes and tools a plus

Academic Credentials:

BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
