As the Software Technical Program Manager, you will drive code quality initiatives within internal software development, tools and legal teams for innovative graphics products.  You will also drive software planning and execution for Virtualization programs.  As part of our cross-functional program management team, you will help shape the future of strategic customer programs that require unique graphics solutions for their platforms.  Solid program management of various software development teams, monitoring the quality of the resulting software deliverables and a strong partnership with the Customer Support teams are a few of the things required to ensure customer programs are enabled and hit production on time.

The ability to establish and drive to goals including plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance and quality will be critical to success.  A passion for creating plans and working with a diverse team of development engineers, program managers and product managers is required for this highly visible role.  Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement.  You must address the various needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Product Management, Software Engineering, Customer Engineering and Software PMO organizations.  You must exhibit excellence in balancing the needs of the Customer Program with Software Development Work Flows and Processes.  This includes carefully documenting, communicating and executing to software program commitments, yet finding ways to address issues and risks whenever they arise (including those from the customer support team).  You are ultimately responsible for software delivery for high profile customer programs that will receive senior executive attention on a weekly basis (minimum).

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of program management, impeccable track record of delivering complex software programs, and experience with Windows and Linux based systems and their respective software driver and firmware models. Working experience in graphics and/or CPU products is strongly desired.

Key Skills/Qualifications:

1.           7 + years software engineering experience with exposure to Device Drivers, Graphics technology

2.           5+ years project/program management experience managing medium/large programs/initiatives

3.           Fundamental understanding of Windows and Linux graphics software including software licensing terms/conditions

4.           Comfortable working with business, legal and software development teams

5.           Knowledge of Jira issue tracking tool required and experience with Palamida or other code quality scanning tools an advantage

6.           Ability to drive cross functional software development programs and provide executive updates

7.           BS or MS required. BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering preferred.

8.           PMP certification

9.           Agile development or Certification a bonus
