The AMD Semi-Custom Business Unit IP Systems Engineering Team is seeking an energetic, experienced Software Development Expert who will become a key member of the team for improving existing processes/tools as well as helping to develop new ones in order to improve efficiency for testing newest AMD APUs. This role will require in depth understanding of upcoming APU SOCs and IPs as well as the capability to leverage a breadth of software technologies and test methodologies to support and enhance the existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Driving technical innovation to enhance AMD’s capabilities in IP validation/verification, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives.

·       Engage with pre-silicon verification efforts, including but not limited to FPGA-based emulation, Design Verification (DV), and other software/hardware modeling frameworks and teams.

·       Support, design and develop in-house tools and processes used for APU validation and manufacturing

·       Develop deep understanding of upcoming AMD SOCs, IPs and programming libraries to enable better process amongst peers

·       Guide and enable team members on new tools and processes

·       Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive strategic process improvements

·       Lead collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues and roll out technical initiatives, including processes, frameworks, and architectures used internally or cross-functionally

 

Requirements:

·       Demonstrated ability to grasp new technical concepts quickly

·       Knowledge in hardware programming, bring up and test methodology

·       Hands on software development, programming, debugging and test automation experience

·       Programming fluency in C, C++, C#, perl, php, ruby, python, and other frameworks

·       Understanding of software design patterns, best practices and API design

·       Demonstrated understanding of PC Platform Architecture, with hands-on experience in assembling PCs from components, set-up, configuration

·       Experience in cross OS development in Linux and Windows environment preferred, Android is a big bonus

·       Familiar with source controls systems like Perforce and Git

·       Knowledge of web front/backend technologies such as PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, Apache is an asset

·       Interest in upcoming technologies, PC gaming and natural curiosity are a plus

·       Strong problem-solving, debugging and analytical skills

·       Good communication skills and ability & desire to work as a great teammate

 

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor and 5+ years of experience or Master's  with 3-5 years of experience  in Electrical/Computer engineering or related degrees
