Windows Driver Software Engineer

The Role:

GPU System Fault Management team is looking for a windows driver software engineer for modern GPU platform. The candidate is to work in the GFX fault management team to craft, develop and maintain a core kernel mode driver in the AMD GPU fault management software stack, and participate in design, development, and maintenance of fault tolerant functionalities in windows GPU core kernel driver.

We are searching for a motivated individual, a great teammate, fast-learner, and a person who collaborates well with other core development teams locally and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Windows kernel mode driver on modern GPU HW system
  • Debug GPU drivers’ central design and development: Fault detection, collection, control; Fault tolerant and recovery in HW/FW control and OS/SW execution
  • Closely work with other development teams and PMs locally and globally in new ASIC bring-up, new operation system development, and new GPU software features
  • Provide end-to-end solutions to internal and external customer issues
  • Lead debug efforts for critical system level issues
  • Build and improve infrastructure system, inside or outside kernel driver, to facilitate system level debugging experience and boost efficiency

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills including Object-Oriented design
  • Experience in multi-process/multi-thread environment
  • Experience with Kernel mode, device driver programming or AMDLog
  • Experience with software debuggers such as WinDbg
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Love R&D, love trouble shooting and debugging

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
