Systems Design Engineer - High Speed I/O Validation

 

THE ROLE:

High speed I/O validation execution and development for AMD's Graphics Processors used for Datacenter, Machine Learning, and High Performance Computing. Role will work in the Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing team which is responsible for Silicon, Board, and System Validation from bring-up to production.

 

THE PERSON:

A self-starter with the ability to execute complex test plans independently, and collaborate with others to resolve problems found. You will have guidance from senior engineers familiar with the role, and should feel comfortable working in a lab environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team member will be responsible for working with Silicon/IP design teams, key architects, and other validation team members to ensure performance and functionality of AMD's high speed I/O HW including: PCIE, multi-GPU Infinity Fabric Architecture, Internal SOC I/O Fabric, Coherent Memory, I/O SerDes Phy, and other areas.

 

 IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experience working on high speed I/O designs or validation
  • Experience with High speed I/O lane margining tools a plus (such as PCIESIG tool)
  • Strong analytical skills for test creation and debug
  • Hands-on experience with testing computer hardware and architecture (experience with datacenter servers a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with electronics equipment (analyzers, oscilloscopes, multi-meter, soldering)
  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex tasks in Linux environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to learn quickly
  • Scripting skills in Python a plus
  • Graphics experience a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
