The AMD Client and Graphics Business Unit (CGE) is looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Engineer to join our growing team focused on leading the development & delivery of client focused USB solutions.  As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product portfolio, you will be part of a high-performance cross-functional team driving the delivery of high quality, industry leading product technology to market.  The CGE team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Subject matter expert for USB subsystem driving solutions for client APU/CPU products
  • Lead overall USB validation, compliance, and debug strategy from pre-silicon planning through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and compliance teams
  • Proactively leading USB project planning, developing and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of deliverables at committed milestones
  • Develops regular status representing the USB cross functional domain to program and senior management
  • Develop and lead USB process improvement initiatives
  • Key interface with internal and external development partners
  • Coaches and mentors staff

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Specialized knowledge of USB 3.1/3.2 protocol, link layer, and certification requirements
  • Considered technical leader across project and functional boundaries and has a proven track record for sustained innovation
  • Can solve complex USB issues; initiates significant changes to existing processes/methods and leads development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must excel in a dynamic team working environment
  • Proven self-starter and be able to independently drive tasks to completion

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • MSEE within 4+ years, or BSEE within 6+ years’ experience in USB ASIC/SOC design, validation, or compliance
