MTS GPU Driver Engineer 

KMD Solutions is the team responsible for developing differentiating feature sets into our Windows graphics kernel driver for gamers, professionals, and notebook users. The C/C++ driver code written by our developers is at the heart of a sophisticated software stack used by millions world-wide. Our engineers are specialists in software and hardware, always challenged, never pigeonholed, and are a fundamental to every Radeon product, feature, and driver release. The Person:

We are looking for strong C/C++ programmers with an affinity for operating systems, embedded programming, and computer architecture to help us build the next generation of graphics features into our kernel driver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop differentiating features in the Windows Kernel Mode Driver using C/C++. Examples include ReLive, Link, FRTC, Enhanced Sync, CrossFire, Eyefinity, Infinity Link, Stereo3D, and more.
  • Bring-up bleeding edge Radeon Graphics gaming and workstation products, such as the 6900XT
  • Deliver the graphics SW stack for unique notebook products, such as the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3
  • Work directly with Microsoft to introduce graphics driver support for the latest Windows operating systems
  • Deliver AMD's Radeon Adrenalin and Enterprise Software, with focus on enhancing stability, performance, power, and security.
  • Interface with other software components, such as user mode drivers, firmware, and the operating system itself
  • Debug some highly challenging and interesting problems using WinDbg, GPUView, and other tools

Preferred Experience:

  • Is a proven C++ programmer and problem-solver
  • Is a phenomenal communicator and collaborator
  • Comfortable with OS internals, such as multithreading, virtual memory, interrupts, DMA, etc.
  • Understands Object-Oriented design and computer architecture
  • Can surmount the steepest learning curves
  • Has some experience with at least one of the following:
  • Very large code bases
  • Kernel debugging and driver development
  • Embedded programming and/or bringup
  • Operating systems and computer architecture
  • GPU graphics/compute APIs: Vulkan, Open CL/GL, DirectX, DirectCompute, etc.
  • PC building

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent degreed
