The Role

AMD is looking for a leader to run our GFX architecture & modelling group. You will be chartered to grow and lead a team to drive multiple GFX architectural programs across multiple market segments including HPC, ML/AI, Gaming, and Mobile. Working both within your team and in broader collaborations with other technical experts and groups within AMD you will develop the architectures which will define the future of graphics. You will also collaborate with our advanced graphics program to develop plans to deliver compelling innovation into the market with the maximum impact for both AMD and the industry, in line with our goal to compete by delivering the best available technology while embracing the development of open standards and broad industry initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Owner of the GFX architecture and modelling deliverables across all GFX programs
  • Responsible for end-to-end ownership of the architectural features being developed for the associated programs
  • Identification and advocation of key strategic initiatives in advanced rendering and computation
  • Development and ownership of architecture-phase milestones aligned with hardware and software IP deliverables

 

Preferred experience:

Demonstrated experience in hardware and software research in consumer and professional graphics and high-performance compute, with a track record of bringing innovative features to market. Prior experience leading and directing teams of researchers and architects.

  • Research Team leadership
  • Graphics hardware architecture experience
  • Graphics software architecture experience
  • Raytracing, Rasterization, GPU Compute experience
  • DirectX, Vulkan and OpenGL experience
  • Experience in technologies for video, audio and data compression
  • Experience in machine learning techniques (training and inference)

 

Academic credentials:

  • BS in Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field
