Developer Technology Manager

The AMD Game Engineering organization works closely with external games software developers and publishers to create some of the best games on the planet. We help them to fully exploit the technical capabilities of AMD's hardware products. Our aim is to raise the standards for gaming graphics and performance and we do everything in our power to make the user understand why they were right to buy AMD.


AMD is looking for a technical manager to lead a team of Developer Technology Engineers whose mandate is to ensure that PC game titles run optimally on AMD hardware. The team provides game studios with the engineering support needed to address stability, quality and performance issues in order to guarantee our customers have a flawless gaming experience at launch. Such support involves direct collaboration on feature integration and performance optimizations. The Developer Engineering team is also responsible for researching and developing software techniques aimed at maximizing GPU and CPU efficiency for real-time graphics rendering workloads.

The Developer Technology manager has the following responsibilities:
• Management of technical relationships with game studios and publishers.
• Define and manage support priorities of the Developer Engineering team.
• Handle vertical and horizontal interactions with other AMD teams (drivers, Quality Engineering, Hardware etc.) to ensure game titles released are optimally supported on AMD products. 

The ideal candidate is a person with a strong graphics engineering and programming background with previous experiences of managing customer-facing engineering teams. The candidate must be familiar with GPU architecture, optimization techniques, game graphics algorithms and technical concepts. Excellent written and verbal skills are expected, along with a willingness to travel domestically and internationally on an occasional basis.

Location: UK home office, AMD Munich office. Other home office locations will be considered on a per-case basis.
