THE ROLE:

We are searching for a senior designer to join the Advanced Power/Clocking Development Team to work on architecture and designs for variation-tolerant power/and clocking.  The successful candidate is expected to work on system architecture, research, and designs for power delivery and adaptive power/clocking architecture for future leading-edge AMD SOCs.

 

THE PERSON:

This candidate will possess

  • Experience and knowledge of system power/clocking modeling and techniques for variation-tolerant optimizations
  • Strong and effective communication and cross-functional team work skills
  • Experience of research and self-directed work
  • Relevant academic background (M. degree preferred) and at least 6 years’ progressive experience
  • Enthusiastic team-first mentality
  • Working knowledge of AMD Markets, products and IP portfolio as well general industry awareness preferred

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working on architecture and feasibility, of high efficiency and variation-tolerant optimal power delivery and adaptive power/clocking techniques for AMD Roadmap products
  • Work with the rest of LPAD and other AMD design teams to maintain this roadmap and implement in AMD products
  • Generate new design solutions for the Advanced Power/Clocking Architecture team
  • Align and contribute to AMD methodologies, and the wider LPAD execution team
  • Enable best-in-class adaptive power and clocking methodologies for AMD products

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience and knowledge of system power/clocking modeling and techniques for variation-tolerant optimizations
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Experience of research and self-directed work
  • Relevant academic background (M. degree preferred) and at least 6 years’ progressive experience
  • Solid knowledge of industry-standard tools and practices for custom and high-speed digital designs (e.g., HSPICE simulator, Cadence design environment)
  • Experience in advanced deep submicron semiconductor technologies, preferably FinFET
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments, Perl, Python, and/or MATLAB
  • Laboratory experience, including the use of equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Relevant academic background (Master’s degree preferred)
