Graphics IP Verification Engineer

 

THE ROLE:

Verification Engineer of Graphics subsystem blocks. The focus of this role is to focus on the block verification, plan, execute and deliver the high quality verification of subsystem blocks for AMD’s graphics processor IP, resulting in no bugs in the final design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the features and blocks to be verified
  • Collaborate with design team and modeling team, lead the blocks to be verified for the block delivery of each milestone
  • Collaborate with project manager and leaders on the block verification delivery against the milestone requirements and regression metrics
  • Understand the block architecture and function in the graphics pipeline. Understand the block level verification strategy and verification plan for both function and performance verification. Plan and execute the block verification for active projects.
  • Hands-on and work on variant area of block verification, including but not limited to:
  • Creating and reviewing test plan documentation, accounting for interactions with different level of verification and feature combination use cases
  • UVM test bench update and maintenance
  • Test creation in directed and random constraints covering all features usage model and corner cases, for both function and performance verification
  • Debugging test failures to determine if it is a design or verification test defect, correcting test issues and working with the design team to correct defects.
  • Coverage implementation and review.
  • Formal verification of the design

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be expert in System Verilog, UVM and proficient in SVA and functional coverage
  • Must have ASIC design knowledge and be able to debug Verilog/System Verilog RTL
  • Good understanding of digital electronics
  • Good understanding of the Compute Graphics a strong plus
  • Formal Property Verification (FPV) or Formal SEQ experience is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of C, C++, and Perl is a plus
  • General tools experience with MS Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • MS degree preferred
