Cloud Sales Specialist - Southern EMEA

 

THE ROLE:

We are looking for our next team member to enable AMD’s leading public cloud vendors to deliver a new era of datacenter computing performance and scale by solving real-world challenges with AMD-based public cloud instances. Leading the account and technical engagement discussions with decision makers at target end customer(s), driving engagement with the SA/Account Teams at Public Cloud Service Providers, supporting partner discussions, and participating in regional events targeting customers and public cloud providers. Being accountable to the Global Account Managers and Technical Team for AWS/Azure and other Public Cloud accounts, and to our Business Development Executives, who own our end customer relationships. Collaborating with the Cloud team to drive AMD’s overall cloud business to meet or exceed revenue goals. Target customers will be cloud-native Software as a Service developers and Fortune 500 companies.

 

THE PERSON:

  • OEM Solution Architect, Cloud-Native Architect, Enterprise Architect, Applications Engineer, or Enterprise Account Manager with technical chops
  • Balanced with excellent people and communications skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong internal (sales, marketing, engineering) and external (customer and partner) relationships
  • Technically proficient, outgoing, proactive, organized, motivated and self-sufficient
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills
  • Proficient in French, English (+ additional languages an advantage)
  • Must be willing to travel up to 40%

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive awareness and articulate the benefits of AMD technology to end customers and partners
  • Collaborate with internal and partner sales teams to present AMD-based solutions tied to customer problems
  • Partner with our Cloud Account Sales-Out leaders and Business Development Execs on priorities and strategies for partner and customer engagement in large named accounts
  • Collaborate with other AMD subject matter authorities to solve customer migration or performance challenges
  • Influence and lead the execution of evaluations and proofs of concept to ensure a quality experience
  • Manage and/or drive to closure all technical issues and customer concerns
  • Collect a proven understanding of the competitive landscape and customer demands to provide feedback to AMD design and product marketing teams
  • Prepare and deliver partner and internal AMD training sessions
  • Identify and drive engagement and pipeline management with public cloud sales and solution architect teams
  • Attend partner events as an AMD representative and subject matter authority
  • Establish new relationships at end customers
  • Support sales pipeline reporting for public cloud opportunities

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven technical proficiency in one or more solution verticals including big data analytics, log analytics, databases, web servers (Apache, NGINX), containers, HR, ERP and other business functions
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Knowledge of virtual machine offerings of at least one public cloud provider
  • Setup, configuration and administration of server systems including software, networking and storage infrastructure strongly preferred
  • Application/workload profiling, tuning and performance assessment a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred)
