TITLE : Firmware Engineer

 

ROLE:

Serdes RTL team is looking for passionate and experienced Firmware Engineer to help with development of high speed Serdes IP.  Be a part of the definition, design and development phase of industry leading and differentiating IPs for various industry protocols as well as proprietary PHYs such as EPYC's infinity data fabric.  This opportunity provides a balance of definition, firmware design and debug with exposure to SerDes components and training algorithms. 

 

Be a part of a team that delivers Industry leading IP and help our experts in RTL, FW, circuit and architecture teams develop leading edge and differentiating IPs.

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • Must be a self starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

   

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review design documentation and understand SerDes high speed PHY sub-components.
  • Review and understand PHY sub-component sequencing and electrical requirement
  • Implement sequencing and algorithmic firmware for enablement and calibration of various PHY components using C programming language targeting an embedded micro-controllers
  • Understand and support existing infrastructure/scripts around firmware generation (C, python)
  • Help implement new scripts to automate firmware process

 

PREFERRED SKILL SETS :

  • Firmware experience around embedded u-controller in C 
  • C, Python and work experience with assembly language 
  • Basic understanding of SerDes or other analog/custom circuit is
  • Firmware/programming experience in Serdes Digital domain is preferred
  • Digital Verilog ASIC design experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • Must be a self starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer engineering is required. Master's or PhD degree is a plus.
