THE ROLE:

 

For mobile GPU architecture, micro architecture and PPA(Performance/Power/area) exploration, you will closely work with different teams, like system/sub-system architects, workload analysis team, design team, performance verification team, power team and driver/compiler team, etc. You will analyze existing designs, propose new solutions for PPA improvement, and perform experiments to determine feasibility. The team fosters flexibility in working on different aspects of the GPU design.

 

THE PERSON:

Individuals with a strong background in hardware design, discrete and mobile GPU design and familiarity with the entire Graphics pipelines. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with architecture, micro-architecture/design, workload analysis, and performance verification teams to drive Power-Performance-Area (PPA) analysis and optimizations
  • Design new GPU algorithms to improve performance per area for rendering and compute workloads
  • Provide experimental/proof-of-concept design changes for proving out potential solutions for PPA improvement, or proving out new PPA features as well as collecting and analyzing PPA data
  • Drive PPA exploration, summarize key data, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate reaching closure among different teams
  • Provide micro-architecture level proposals or review proposals from other sources for PPA optimizations
  • Identify complex technical problems, or review new features, discuss with the teams and provide possible solutions

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent experience in delivering innovative, efficient GPU architecture
  • 15+ years ASIC / VLSI experience spanning architecture, micro-architecture performance analysis, RTL, power optimization, implementation, timing convergence,
  • synthesis, placement, routing, circuits, advanced optimization techniques, and silicon debug. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to details
  • Proven program/project experience, balancing trade-offs for complexity, schedule, budget, and silicon cost
  • Strong communication, time Management, and presentation skills
  • Effective team player who focuses on collaboration, team building, and team success
  • Mobile GPU architecture and workload experience is big plus
  • Experience with CPU / GPU designs as well as deep learning/neural network accelerators highly desired

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master’s degree or above in EE, CS are desired
