Job Description

AMD is looking for a SW engineer with expertise in C++ development including: design, implementation, debug, and test.

Bitstream generation makes our customers' designs a reality. Today's ACAP devices have complex hardware that integrates diverse IPs, including logic fabric, processors, gigabit transceivers, NOC, compute and more, requiring a much more complex bitstream than traditional FPGAs. Device configuration in ACAP devices is more than just a stream of bits. Bitstream generation involves generating assembly-like instructions that are consumed by firmware, which is responsible for executing the configuration at boot time. Bitstream generation software must generate the instructions used by firmware to provide pre-configuration of NOC (so the bitstream can be loaded across the device), startup and shutdown sequencing of hardware being programmed, control isolation between IPs that connect to logic fabric, and to program fabric, NOC and NOC-programmed IPs across the device.

Primary responsibilities in this position include:
•    As a member of the Bitstream generation team, you will:
•    Develop customer-facing next-generation bitstream generation software solutions for the most-advanced silicon technologies, including active-on-active and chiplets
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve novel device configuration problems across multiple functional areas
•    Engage with hardware architecture, Vivado software, system software and Vivado IP teams to design the next-generation of FPGA and ACAP device configuration solutions
•    Test, debug and validate bitstreams on real boards with AMD devices

Education Requirements & Years of Experience
•    BS with 2+ years of experience or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related equivalent

Qualifications / Skills
•    Expertise in EDA algorithms and C++ Programming
•    Strong Analytical skills
