Senior Software Engineer

Performance Simulation & Tool Development

 

The role:  Great opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer career professional to join an elite team to develop ongoing solutions in the Adaptive & Embedded Computing Group (AECG) division of AMD semiconductor.   AMD’s new hardware programmable SoC FPGAs and Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform (ACAP) deliver most dynamic processor technology and are achieving record performances in Data Center, Wireless/5G, Automotive/ADAS and Emulation applications. 

 

The person:  AMD’s Adaptive & Embedded Computing Group (AECG) are seeking a strong developer with proven expertise in modeling complex HW architectures for fast simulation in SystemC TLM/C++ and development of supporting productivity tools.  As part of the Device Simulation Modeling team, this individual will be responsible for the definition, development, validation, and release of SystemC simulation models and related productivity tools for All Programmable FPGAs, SoCs, 3D ICs and ACAP devices. The position requires strong programming fundamentals in C++ and good understanding of System-On-Chip (SoC) hardware architecture.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • C & C++ Performance Simulation & Tool Development Engineer
  • Model complex HW architectures for fast simulation in SystemC TLM/C++ and be responsible for the development of supporting productivity tools. 
  • Define, development, validation, and release of SystemC simulation models and related productivity tools
  • Demonstrate strong programming fundamentals in C++ and clear understanding of System-On-Chip (SoC) hardware architecture.
  • Proactively identify and deliver solutions that reduce development and support costs

 

Preferred experience:

  • Proven proficiency with software development in C++
    Experience in object-oriented design and programming
    Self-sufficient and proficient in software development concepts and methods, coding, and debugging
  • Experience with simulation modeling in SystemC TLM, UVM, Verilog or System Verilog 
    Familiarity with hardware functional verification
    Capable of developing a single project in its entirety
    Demonstrate technical flexibility and adaptability in developing in new and shifting software development and test environments
  • Good understanding of Systems-On-chip SoC protocols such as AMBA or PCI-express is a plus
    Knowledge of Dynamic RAM (DDR/HBM) controllers and memory bandwidth optimization 
  • Exposure to SoC performance analysis is also a plus
     

Academic credentials:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related equivalent
